Artist's Comments
This is a piece of fanart for my fanfic "The Call of Atlantis". [link] The basic idea of the fic is that Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist discovers that he's really a merman and feels a call from Atlantis to come home where he belongs, though he's obviously very confused, lol. This particular scene hasn't been written yet at the time of this submission, but in this pic, he's very near his destination, just not quite there yet. Winry Rockbell has caught up with him, found out about his transformation, and has accepted it. Now she's enjoying his presence for the time being, since she doesn't know how much longer this will last.

You've gotten very good at this, heh. The faces are still more oval-round than I picture them, but I think that's partly because I'm used to drawing anime-ish faces. The waves turned out very nice, as well as the green sash, lol. Their skin looks very realistic, and...

Anyway, thanks so much for the comment and the fave! I really appreciate it. This pic took quite a lot of effort since I wanted to get my proportions right for once, hehe...so hopefully it'll be easier to accomplish that from now on. My brother gave me some money to get some art supplies on my birthday a few days ago, so a couple of the things I got were a couple posable manikins, one male and one female, heh. I'd already drawn Edward by that time, but I'd only had Winry's head drawn, so I took out the female manikin and drew off of that for her. Helped me to make her actually look female, lol. Apparently having a model really helps when you're striving for realism.
